Science in action in EYFS

The children in EYFS took delivery of some baby caterpillars 🐛 which they looked after in their classroom. They observed the caterpillars growing and changing and were very excited when they made their cocoons. After 9 days the first butterfly emerged, followed by the others over the next few days. The children then released the butterflies into the wild so that they could feed on nectar and lay their eggs. The children loved watching this life cycle in action.
